MANUSCRIPT EDITING SERVICES
Proofread
A proofread will catch errors in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, basic grammar (subject-verb agreement), spacing, and other mistakes at the sentence level. Beginning at $1.50 per page.
Copyedit
A copyedit includes a proofread and focuses on smoothness, transitions, simplifying, and tightening. Beginning at $2 per page.
Content/Substantive Edit—Nonfiction
I will work with you to present your content in a logical, engaging fashion, and help to strengthen your narrative presentation to make your manuscript fresh, timely, and professional. *Additional information below.

A content edit will specifically address: hook, character development, character empathy, dialogue, tags, beats, plot, subplot(s), theme, pacing, tension, voice, point of view, setting, the five senses, passive writing, showing vs. telling, climax, denouement, and other, genre-specific elements. *
Rewriting Services
I will rewrite your fiction or nonfiction manuscript to your specifications, employing Content/Substantive Editing, Copyediting, and Proofreading techniques. *

FREE EDIT
If you would like to see how I work, and to enable me to quote you a project fee, simply complete the form at the bottom of this page, and I will reply with a request for two pages from your manuscript. Please send the two pages in the format of a Microsoft Word-compatible electronic file. Once I have received them, I will provide a free edit using whichever level of service you feel will best meet your needs.
In most cases your complimentary edit will be returned to you within one business day, with notations made using Microsoft Word’s Track Changes feature. If you are unfamiliar with how Track Changes works, I will gladly send you a brief description; it is convenient and easy to use. Once I've completed a sample edit, I will be able to quote you a project fee and the length of time it should take to complete the edit.
FORMAT
Manuscript pages should be double spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font, with 1” margins all around, the industry standard. All fees are based on this format.
PAYMENT
I offer a flexible fee schedule to best meet your particular needs. You are welcome to pay by personal check or PayPal. I begin work once your payment clears. Your edited manuscript will be returned to you after receipt of your final payment.
